The President and members of Loveworld Inc. aka Christ Embassy yesterday, celebrated 1,000 days of prayer for the nations and their leaders. According to the CEO of the ministry, Pastor Deola Philips, the continuous prayer programme started January 6, 2020, when the President and Founder, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome during a meeting at the Loveworld Crusade Ground in Ogun state, announced that the church will embark on a non-stop prayer chain for the nations of the world and their leaders. And yesterday was the 1,000th day of the prayer.
The CEO, describing the journey so far said: “It has been 1,000 days of manifesting the power of the Holy Spirit, the authority of the Name of Jesus, the Excellence of our Kingdom, and dedication…” She said the prayer chain tagged “Pastor Chris Live Pray-a-thon” has resulted in so many testimonies all around the world. The Secretary General of the Ministry, Pastor Kay Adesina corroborated the submission; he said the non-stop prayers were regarded as important because Pastor Chris had taught them in 2020 that the prayers may be what will save the world in the coming days. The President was quoted to have said that the people could not tell, if the prayers would fast track the rapture or bring to pass, all the prophecies by Daniel, Jeremiah etc in the Bible.
The CEO and Sec. Gen agreed that the commencement of the pray-a-thon positioned all the members of the ministry and as many that subscribed to it, rightly ahead of the COVID break out and the attendant restrictions. “By the time this happened, God already put us in an advantageous position… everything that the man of God told us has happened. He said COVID is dead, he called the pandemic a debacle… even though there were a lot of struggles, the Word of the Spirit held sway and look at where we are today because of this prophetic word that came from the man of God.”
Pastor Deola added that the prophecies came to pass because the President did not only position the church to pray; he also led them in the prayers. “Because if the prophecies were without the prayers, we won’t have gotten the victory. We needed to pray; we needed to be positioned to pray; we needed to be positioned to bring in God’s plan… we actually reframed the world for God’s intended purpose.”
Pastor Lanre Alabi, the Director of Church Growth International said one major result of the Global Pray-a-thon is bringing together: “an amazing unity of men and women, boys and girls, members and ministers of the Gospel from other ministries into this amazing unity; praying as God would have us to pray and praying in the Spirit.”
The CEO invited the general public to join in the train and pray with other Christians; while the President, Pastor Chris inaugurated another phase of the prayer as an addition to the existing structure: all Christ Embassy churches and partnering ministries are to pick a Sunday or Friday in which, while having the main service, the whole congregation will pray together for the nations of the world for 15mins.
