Former Student gifts Borehole and Sholarships to FUTA

A staff of Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Dr. Gbenga Owolabi gave back to his alma mater, the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), the gift of a borehole and scholarship for 50 students.

Dr. Owolabi made the scholarship through the Renaissance Social Support and Developments (RSSD), an initiative that also takes care of the poor through feeding programmes.

Those who benefited from the scholarship comprises of 23 indigenous students and 27 non-indigenous students with the highest CGPA in the previous academic session

In conclusion, Dr. Owolabi said that 500-level students in the “brilliant students” category will get N50,000 each, beneficiaries in the 200-level to 400-level within same category will get N20,000 each while the “indigenous students” category will get N20,000 each.
