During the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria’s (MAN) 50th Annual General Meeting (AGM), which hekd in the city of Lagos, Mr. Otunba Francis Meshioye, was elected as the new National President. He will be serving the association as the 11th President.
The newly elected President is currently a council member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN). Prior to his current position, he served as ICSAN Chairman; Treasurer, Remuneration Committee and Chairman, Lagos state. He is also an alumnus of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, where he acquired Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Technology, Marketing and Business Strategy.
Mr. Francis has achieved a lot for himself. He also holds a Master’s degree in International Management, alongside a Law degree. These degrees were acquired from the University of Liverpool, England. He is a member of the Society of Company and Commercial Accountants (UK); Association of Investment Advisers and Portfolio Managers; Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (UK); Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria; and Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).
The Public Relations Officer of MAN, Mrs. Omotayo Okewunmi, issued a press release that said Mr. Otunba Francis Meshioye, “is an executive director of the JMG Limited and some other business corporations, amongst which are, JMG Power Generators Limited, Jamara Operations Limited, Octopus Microfinance Bank and ET&F Investment Limited.”
Man is an advocacy group that was birthed in the year 1971, with a vision “to be the key driver for industrialisation, sustainable economic growth and development in Nigeria.” Man protects and projects the interest of manufacturing industries in Nigeria, as it functions as the umbrella organisation of Nigerian manufacturers. It has over 2,500 members.
Before the election of Mr. Otunba Francis Meshioye, Mr. Mansur Ahmed, OFR, had served the organisation for a period of four years. Mr. Francis has successfully served as the Chairman of MAN, Ikeja Branch of Lagos state; Chairman of Finance and Establishment Committee, and Vice President of MAN Lagos Zone. The newly elected President is also The Olori (Supreme Leader) of the ‘Reformed Ogboni Fraternity.’
