Free Food x Times For All – Every Christ Embassy Church all around the world has become a diner. This started when the founder, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome instructed his members to turn every gathering throughout the month to a feast. He disclosed this during the church’s monthly programmed tagged the Global Communion Service; a programme in which he gives the members a theme word for every month. The clergy declared the month of July the month of joy. He said: “this month of July is the month of joy; and we are going to joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We’re going to celebrate like we have never done before.”

The clergy went on to give his followers further instruction on how to “…joy in God;” he said: “everyday of this month we will celebrate; and here is the instruction: you are going to organize love feasts throughout this month. Some of you will do it everyday, weekly, etc. do the best that you can do. We will sing songs of thanks and praise to God; prayers, testimonies, food and drinks.” He told them not to keep this to the members alone but to extend it to the public. In his words: “all the extra, add it to the distributions to the poor.”

Ever since, it has been a dinning affair in all Christ Embassy churches globally: every service features a time of thanksgiving, praise, prayers, testimonies and feasting. Different groups in the church sponsoring each feast as the founder has directed: “Members can help in sponsoring the feasts but it should be the church that does the preparation. Someone can say: “I would like to sponsor the one for Tuesday or Wednesday;” whatever you put together, the church should be responsible for cooking the food…let the church be responsible. The church will be responsible for the distribution as well.”

Christ Embassy Ogba in Lagos Nigeria was reported to have killed cow on one of the occasion of the feast, the Hawaii branch of the church was also reported to have set up a food buffet with surplus to eat x times. The story has been the same for all branches of the ministry all over the world. It will suffice to say everyone who requires food can locate any Christ Embassy church around on their service days – Wednesdays and Sundays – or any other meeting day; such person can be certain to leave fed to satisfaction.
