Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representative has appointed new officers: a new Chief of Staff and nine others. According to Lanre Lasisi, the Speaker’s spokesperson, he said the appointments were “for effective delivery of his legislative agenda for the 9th House,” as well as filling up the vacancy created by the former members of the house who resigned from their positions in order to pursue elective offices. This is in alignment with the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022.
The Speaker promoted his former Deputy Chief of Staff, Wasiu Olanrewaju to become his new Chief of Staff, succeeding Sanusi Garba Rikii, the former Chief of Staff. Other appointments include: a new Deputy Chief of Staff, Olufunmi Badmus, Bisi Irinoye as Special Assistant, Legislative Matters, Lamir Ibrahim as Special Assistant on Executive Relations, Jamila Muazu – Senior Legislative Assistant I, Obiageli Onu – SLA II, and Kunle Bello – SLA III.
Others are: Abdulrauf Modibbo – Special Assistant, Political (North-East); Kenneth Uzoigwe – SA, Political (South-East); and Ibrahim Laldega – SA, Political (South-West).
