Tinubu Seeks Germany’s Aid To Ease Subsidy Removal Impact

Yesterday, The wife of the President, Oluremi Tinubu, reached out to Germany for help in reducing the impact of fuel subsidy removal on Nigerians. During a meeting with the German Ambassador, Annette Guenther, and Embassy officials in Abuja, she welcomed and expressed gratitude for Germany’s past assistance in Nigeria, especially for aiding vulnerable people in conflict-affected areas. In a statement from her Media Senior Adviser, Busola Kukoyi, Tinubu praised the positive relationship between Nigeria and Germany.

Guenther, on her part, highlighted Germany’s involvement in humanitarian efforts, stabilizing conflict zones like the North-East, enhancing security, and promoting renewable energy in Nigeria. She appreciated Tinubu’s role as a women’s advocate and assured her of Germany’s support for women development initiatives. Guenther also invited the President and First Lady to Germany’s 50th United Nations membership anniversary.

In another development, Female Deputy Governors have pledged their support for Oluremi Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), which aims to alleviate the struggles faced by Nigerian women.

During a visit to Her Excellency at the State House in Abuja, Ogun State Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, speaking on behalf of her colleagues, emphasized the importance of investing in women, youths, and children for Nigeria’s growth. The deputy governors expressed their interest in collaborating with Tinubu’s vision to benefit Nigerians.

Tinubu thanked the deputy governors for their unity and support, noting that their joint efforts would enhance the well-being of Nigerians. She urged them to work together with a common purpose to develop ideas and initiatives that could alleviate citizens’ hardships.
