Improving Food Security: Flour Mills Donates Seed Testing Lab To Agricultural Seed Council

In a significant step towards making sure we have enough food, the Flour Milling Association of Nigeria (FMAN) presented the National Agricultural Seed Council (NASC) with a valuable lab for testing seeds. This special lab, which is worth 20 million Naira, will help ensure that the seeds used for farming are of high quality.

Alhaji Olalekan Saliu, who leads FMAN, expressed how much they value working together with NASC to achieve important goals. He said they want to keep partnering with NASC to bring better seeds to Nigeria. “We are also delighted by NASC’s achievements and plan to collaborate with other players in the wheat industry,” he added

Saliu also appealed to the government to repair broken dams and provide water pumps to farmers. He explained that while private businesses like FMAN are doing their part, the government’s help is essential for bigger tasks.

Ishiak Khalid, the person in charge of NASC, expressed gratitude for the seed testing lab. He assured that this lab will be used to benefit farmers, ensuring they have access to top-quality seeds for their crops. Khalid also acknowledged FMAN’s continuous support in ensuring the availability of good seeds for both food and industrial purposes.

While President Tinubu concentrates on solving electricity problems, FMAN contributes by offering a lab that will help guarantee better seeds for our agricultural needs.
