“WE HAVE NO PLANS TO NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS”; KATSINA STATE GOVERNOR MAINTAINS STANCE

Date:

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, unequivocally stated that his government will not engage in peace negotiations or dialogues with armed terrorists within the state. Emphasizing his administration’s stance, Radda underscored that there are no intentions to enter into talks with terrorists or their leaders, as such efforts have proven ineffective in the past.

Speaking at a special prayer session held at the People’s Square, opposite the Government House, Radda reaffirmed his commitment to allocating the state’s resources towards strengthening security measures and eradicating criminal elements.

The prayer session, organized by the State Ministry of Religious Affairs in collaboration with the state Council of Ulamas, sought divine intervention for the continued peace and stability of Katsina and Nigeria as a whole. Prominent Islamic scholars led prayers for lasting peace in the region.

Radda emphasized that the government’s policy is not to negotiate with bandits, but it is open and welcoming to those who genuinely wish to repent and contribute to the development of Katsina. He asserted that the state would work closely with security agencies to proactively combat insecurity, taking the battle against criminal elements to their very doorsteps.

To bolster security efforts, Radda revealed the state government’s plans to provide operational vehicles and motorcycles to security agencies and the Community Watch Corps. This measure aims to address operational challenges and enhance their effectiveness in maintaining law and order.

Radda called upon the people of Katsina to collaborate with the government in achieving its policies and programs. He stressed that the state’s initiatives are designed to alleviate the suffering of the masses and foster improved living conditions.

The governor highlighted the shared responsibility in safeguarding lives and property, emphasizing that security is a collective effort that extends beyond the government and security agencies.

In conclusion, Radda’s firm stance against negotiating with terrorists underscores the government’s determination to confront security challenges head-on. By redirecting resources and strengthening collaboration with security forces, the government of Katsina aims to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens while maintaining the rule of law.
