LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESSWAY SET FOR MID-SEPTEMBER COMPLETION, EMPHASIZING DURABILITY AND EFFICIENCY

Date:

Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has affirmed that the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway project is on track for completion by mid-September. To ensure the road’s longevity, Umahi announced that concrete will be the primary construction material, and night shifts will be introduced to expedite the process. This statement was made during his recent visit to sites of ongoing and completed Federal Government projects in Lagos State.

The inspection tour began with the assessment of various areas, including the outer Marina Road in Victoria Island, the newly rehabilitated Eko Bridge and Ijora Olopa, as well as the Lagoon section of Eko Bridge and Apapa. During the visit, Umahi emphasized the significance of maintaining clean surroundings in line with the Federal Government’s initiatives. He outlined plans to construct drainages and paved spaces under the bridges. These areas will then be handed over to the state government, allowing them to be transformed into parks and beautified public spaces.

The commitment to completing the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway project by the specified timeline showcases the government’s dedication to enhancing vital infrastructure, fostering connectivity, and ensuring the longevity of the newly constructed road.
