NCAA AND NAF COLLABORATE TO STRENGTHEN AIRPORT SECURITY

Date:

In a move to enhance security and safety within Nigeria’s aviation sector, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has entered into a civil-military Memorandum of Cooperation with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). This collaboration, aimed at formalizing and deepening their existing relationship, seeks to bolster airspace security.

Capt. Musa Nuhu, the Director-General of NCAA, along with other CEOs of aviation agencies, recently visited the NAF headquarters in Abuja. Nuhu highlighted the importance of such collaborations between civil aviation and the military for the growth of the country’s aviation industry.

The primary focus of this partnership is to ensure the continuous safety and security of the aviation industry and the country’s airspace, which is integral for Nigeria’s economic growth. By working together, the two organizations aim to maintain the country’s Category One Status and foster a cohesive approach to addressing aviation security challenges.

During the visit, Air Marshall Hassan Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff, expressed his commitment to working closely with civil aviation authorities. He emphasized that the memorandum formalizes the already existing areas of cooperation.

This collaboration signifies a positive step towards reinforcing security measures in Nigeria’s aviation industry, promoting safer skies, and ensuring a robust environment for economic growth.
