Lagos Police Command Spokesman Warms on Gas Carburettor Installations

Date:

The spokesman of the Lagos police Gommand, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, gave a crucial warning to Nigerians over the rampant and potentially dangerous installations of gas carburettors in generators. This was contained in an advisory issued on Sunday, September 3, 2023.

The police spokesman highlighted the significant safety concerns that improper installations could cause, and urged citizens to prioritise safety above all else; noting that recently, a lot of Nigerians, especially Lagosians, have been opting to convert their generators to use gas instead of traditional petrol.

His words: ”Many Lagosians installed gas carburettors in their power-generating sets to enable them to use gas in place of petrol. Most did the installation by themselves or engaged the services of non-qualified technicians.

”To AVOID FIRE OUTBREAKS, kindly engage a qualified technician to inspect the installation and certify it fit for use.

”This advisory is based on genuine surveys and concerns from experts who know better. A stitch in time saves nine, and prevention is far better than cure.”

Taking a cue from the advisory, Nigerians and other residents are hereby encouraged to take immediate action to ensure the proper installation and safety of their gas carburettors.
