OBASANJO AND SANUSI CRITICIZE BUHARI’S ECONOMIC MANAGEMENT

Date:

Former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and former Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi have voiced their concerns over the economic management during President Muhammadu Buhari’s eight-year administration.

Obasanjo, in an interview with a media House, criticized Buhari’s handling of the economy; stating that he spent money recklessly, and lacked an understanding of economics.

Sanusi, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, accused the Buhari administration of ignoring expert advice; leading to poor economic management.

Sanusi also highlighted the excessive printing of money by the Central Bank, which contributed to the depreciation of the Naira.

Both Obasanjo and Sanusi expressed their views on the economic challenges faced by Nigeria in recent years and urged for better economic policies.

Sanusi defended former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu; stating that he should not be blamed for the current economic hardships and emphasized the need for subsidy removal.
