First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has introduced the SheVentures Export Readiness Programme, aimed at bolstering women-owned businesses in Nigeria, seeking to expand into international markets. This initiative will provide participants with valuable insights, specialized advisory services, and interest-free loans to facilitate their export trade logistics.
According to Mrs. Yemisi Edun, Managing Director of FCMB, the mission of the SheVentures Export Readiness Programme is to empower women-owned businesses to globally export their products and services.
The program offers interest-free loans, comprehensive training, and mentorship, addressing common challenges such as limited financial resources and knowledge gaps. The ultimate goal is to enable Nigerian SMEs to transcend local markets by establishing connections with global businesses and tapping into the extensive opportunities of globalization.
The SheVentures Export Readiness Program is open to all women-owned SMEs in Nigeria with an interest in reaching new markets and expanding their businesses. The program encompasses a series of training modules covering crucial topics like export market research, product development, and export documentation. Additionally, participants will have the valuable opportunity to receive one-on-one mentoring from seasoned exporters.
Ms. Yetunde Moito, Head of Women in Business (SheVentures) at FCMB,emphasised the numerous challenges Nigerian businesswomen encounter in their pursuit of building successful enterprises. She noted that FCMB is providing additional support to women who own or manage businesses in Nigeria, equipping them with the necessary resources to thrive.
