Amangwu Development Union Extends Educational Opportunities To 46 Outstanding Students

The Amangwu Development Union, through its Scholarship Programme Committee, has unveiled the recipients of the prestigious Amangwu Tertiary and Secondary School Scholarships for the year 2023.

In a joint statement signed by Amb. Sunday Chibuzo Okereke, Chairman of Amangwu Scholarship Youth Empowerment and Employment Programme (SYEEP); Ibekwe Ikenna Victor, Secretary of Amangwu-SYEEP; and Mazi Kanu Basil Iroegbu, President General of Amangwu Development Union, it was disclosed that a total of 46 students have been selected for these scholarships.

Among the recipients, 11 outstanding Amangwu students, comprising 4 males and 7 females, have been awarded scholarships for university-level education. An additional 35 students, including 15 males and 20 females, have been granted scholarships for their secondary school education.

These scholarships have been made possible through the generous support of individuals and foundations, with UgwuAro’s Mazi Emma Kanu Ivi sponsoring 22 students, Mazi Frederick Eze Foundation supporting 20 students, and Mazi David Ukachukwu Eze extending assistance to 4 university students.

The committee expressed deep appreciation to the visionary donors who have embraced the cause of empowering Amangwu’s youth through access to quality education. They also acknowledged the exceptional leadership of Mazi Kanu Basil Iroegbu and the unwavering support of the ADU (Women Wing) and the Youth.

Highlighting the rigorous selection process, the committee thanked the various Sub-Committees and emphasised the importance of the awardees serving as exemplary ambassadors of Amangwu, and their respective institutions.

The committee concluded by expressing their eagerness to welcome additional donors who share the vision of providing educational opportunities and contributing to the socio-economic, infrastructural, and cultural advancement of Amangwu.
