Tinubu Appoints New CEOs To Lead Key Technology Agencies

In a noteworthy development, President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has appointed new Chief Executive Officers to head vital government agencies within the technology and communications sector. This strategic move aims to improve the leadership and operational effectiveness of these organisations.

The appointments, officially announced by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale, include – Aminu Maida: Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) and CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC); Nkechi Egerton-Idehen: Managing Director and CEO of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT); Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi: CEO of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA); Vincent Olatunji: Head of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC); and Tola Odeyemi: Postmaster General of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST).

In addition to these key appointments, President Tinubu has also designated Idris Alubankudi as his Special Adviser on Technology and Digital Economy. These changes reflect a strategic realignment of leadership within the technology sector, and are anticipated to bring fresh perspectives and progress to these vital agencies.
