FG SIGNS N1BN DEAL WITH IHS TOWER

Date:

The Federal Government, in collaboration with IHS Towers, has secured a N1billion deal through the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy. This three-year partnership aims to establish learning communities nationwide for the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme. The initiative’s primary goal is to equip Nigerians with crucial digital skills.

Already in its initial phase, the programme, targeting 30,000 Nigerians for training, has received over 330,000 applications, indicating a significant demand for technical education. This partnership will enable the setup of learning communities in all 36 states, and the Federal Capital Territory; offering weekly gatherings for learning, collaboration, and project building. Moreover, these communities are poised to enhance local innovation ecosystems across the nation.

Under this partnership, IHS Nigeria will provide financial backing, industry expertise, and cover the salaries of 37 dedicated learning community managers for each location over the next three years. Additionally, participants will have access to a learning platform supporting 3MTT talent development efforts.

Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovations and Digital Economy, commended IHS Nigeria’s substantial funding commitment, and recognise its pivotal role in advancing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda objectives. He announced the N1billion partnership as a critical step towards establishing the 3 Million Technical Talent Learning Community in all states, and the FCT.

Mohamad Darwish, CEO of IHS Nigeria, expressed the organisation’s commitment to contributing to Nigeria’s economic empowerment and growth. They look forward to supporting President Bola Tinubu’s agenda on job creation while bolstering technical skills through this collaboration.
