CAC EXPOSES 189 SHAM COMPANIES INVOLVED IN LAND FRAUD IN FCT

Date:

The Registrar General (RG) of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Hussaini Magaji, announced the discovery of 189 fraudulent companies implicated in a land acquisition scheme in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Addressing the media at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja, RG Magaji disclosed that arrests have already been made, and a thorough investigation is underway.

Magaji reported that, “since assuming office, a major accomplishment has been dismantling a criminal syndicate that posed a threat to both the commission and the nation. These wrongdoers established 189 fictitious entities and companies. They colluded with personnel from the Abuja Information Geographic System (AGIS) to secure land allocations in the FCT.

“They employed tactics to expedite their applications, often superseding legitimate ones. Their activities persisted until yesterday when we apprehended them. Law enforcement agencies are currently conducting a comprehensive inquiry.

“This revelation marks a significant step in curbing illicit activities affecting the commission and the broader community. The CAC remains committed to upholding transparency and safeguarding property rights.
