GOV. UMO ENO SEEKS PRESIDENT TINUBU’S SUPPORT

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has solicited President Bola Tinubu’s support,;he requested his assistance for the completion of the Ibom Deep Sea Port, and oil palm projects. Eno, describing Tinubu as a businessman, emphasised the need for the Federal Government’s assistance during his visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

In discussions with newsmen, Governor Eno highlighted his administration’s efforts to revamp a moribund industry that has been neglected for 28 years. The ongoing revival, he stated, requires the support of the Federal Government to establish a complete value chain, generate employment, and contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth.

Governor Eno stressed the potential for palm oil exportation; addressing the current reliance on imports. He emphasised the necessity of partnering with the Federal Government to facilitate progress in Akwa Ibom State, affirming that the Ibom Deep Sea Port would play a crucial role in relieving congestion in Lagos, and serving the South-East, South-South, and Niger Delta regions.

Governor Eno underscored the significance of President Tinubu understanding the state’s progress, given his role as the president of Nigeria. He pointed out that the Ibom Deep Sea Port’s extensive capabilities would contribute to national economic development.
