Police Warning: LBGTQ Members Targeted In Nigeria

The Nigeria Police Force has issued a stern warning to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LBGTQ) individuals to avoid Nigeria. The warning, delivered by police spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi, stated that the police will pursue such individuals.

Adejobi described LBGTQ members participating in the ‘Of Course’ challenge currently trending on Instagram, as “criminals” who will not find comfort in Nigeria. Responding to the video, Adejobi stated that such acts are illegal and punishable under Nigerian law; emphasising that they are condemned.
