DR. DAYO MOBEREOLA  BECOMES NIMASA DIRECTOR GENERAL

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Dayo Mobereola as the new Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), succeeding Mr. Bashir Jamoh. The appointment, which was announced through a statement posted on the official handle of the Presidency’s X account, grants Dr. Mobereola an initial four-year term, subject to renewal.

 

In his statement, President Tinubu expressed confidence in Dr. Mobereola’s ability to lead NIMASA effectively; citing his extensive experience in the maritime sector as his premise. The President outlined key objectives for Dr. Mobereola, which include upholding world-class standards in maritime safety administration, recognising maritime labour, preventing and controlling maritime pollution, conducting search and rescue operations, enforcing cabotage, fostering shipping development, and managing ship registration.

 

President Tinubu emphasised the importance of continuity, and maintaining high standards in the agency’s operations. He called upon Dr. Mobereola to leverage his expertise and leadership skills to ensure the fulfillment of NIMASA’s objectives and to contribute to the growth and development of the Nigerian maritime industry.
