WEMA BANK LAUNCHES ANTI-FRAUD CAMPAIGN TO SAFEGUARD CUSTOMERS

Wema Bank Plc has initiated an anti-fraud campaign aimed at protecting customers from falling victim to fraudulent activities. The bank, known for its digital innovation and facilitation of fintech operations, has taken decisive action to curb fraudulent inflows into wallet accounts and activities of some fintech partners.

Chief Audit Executive of Wema Bank, Oluwole Esomojumi, emphasised the importance of safeguarding customers from evolving tactics employed by fraudsters. He highlighted the necessity for consumers to be vigilant and equipped with knowledge to detect and handle suspicious engagements effectively.

Esomojumi assured customers of Wema Bank’s commitment to combating fraud and ensuring the safety of Nigerians. The bank has intensified security measures and conducted thorough investigations into fintech partners involved in fraudulent activities, leading to the disengagement of culpable parties from its payment gateway platform.

In line with its dedication to consumer protection, Wema Bank has suspended and investigated several fintech partners for fraud, demonstrating its commitment to responsible partnerships and adherence to regulatory guidelines.

The Anti-Fraud Campaign, launched by Wema Bank, aims to raise awareness, educate customers, and provide them with the necessary tools to mitigate and handle fraudulent activities effectively.
