LAGOS STATE GOVT ANNOUNCES TRAFFIC DIVERSION

After information from the Federal Ministry of Works regarding continuing emergency repairs on the Marine Bridge, the Lagos State Government has issued a traffic diversion for Apapa-bound lanes from Sunday, February 26, until Tuesday, February 28, 2023.

Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, the Transportation Commissioner, revealed this information in a statement on Thursday.

He said that the Marine Bridge, Marine Bridge Road, and Mobil Road U-turn will be used to connect the Leventis Service Lane and access Leventis for traffic coming from Ijora in the direction of Leventis/Apapa.

He said, “Alternatively, the Marine Bridge Total Ramp inwards to Malu Access Road will be open to traffic for motorists to continue their journeys as aforementioned.”

In addition to installing traffic guides to reduce inconveniences, the Commissioner stated that members of the state’s Traffic Management Agency will be sent to the area to direct traffic.

Nonetheless, he pleaded with drivers to follow the law and assist the government, as the state’s repair efforts sought to provide everyone with high-quality, and secure road infrastructure.

IReport247 gathered reports that several road rehabilitation projects are currently going on in the state.

There is a repair ongoing along the Lagos Ibadan Expressway which, brought about a traffic diversion for those linking the express from CMD Road, and the closure of two existent u-turn along the axis. However, as the Commissioner said about traffic management on the Marina bridge, transport officials have been assigned to the area to help with the flow of traffic there.
