NEW NDDC BOARD INAUGURATED AFTER 4 YEARS

Date:

The Federal Government has inaugurated the governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), for the first time in four years. This is a great development as the agency has been under interim management since the last board was dissolved four years ago.
The nominations were confirmed as at 20th December, 2022, following the President’s presentation of the list to the Senate, in accordance with the NDDC (Establishment) Act, 2008.

The Minister of State for Niger-Delta Affairs, Mrs. Sharon Ikeazu, urged the new board to prioritize restoring hope to the people of the region as its major objective. Yesterday, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SSG), Boss Mustapha, charged the members at the ceremony in Abuja, to rise above the board. He further emphasized that they should evolve policies that will help the commission in executing its mandate for the Niger Delta.
