The University of Medical Sciences, Ondo City, Ondo State, Nigeria, has become fully accredited. The university got accredited from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria to graduate professional medical doctors. This was announced in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the university in the person of Mr Temitope Oluwatayo.
According to the statement, the approval of the council came after the accreditation visit to UNIMED, Ondo, between Wednesday, November 30, 2022, and Thursday, December 1, 2022, to determine the available resources for the training of MBBS students in the institution.
Oluwatayo said the provisional approval of the council was contained in a letter that was addressed to the Vice-Chancellor of the school, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi, and was duly signed by the Registrar, Dr. Tajudeen Sanusi.
The statement reads: “With this development, final-year students of the MBBS programme at the university can now take their final professional examination and be inducted into the medical council.”
