PRESIDENT BUHARI TO USE TECHNOLOGY TO HARNESS MINERAL RESOURCES

On Friday, October 7th 2022, President Muhammadu Buhari said that the government was working on using technology to exploit mineral resources in Nigeria’s seabed. To properly harness the nation’s blessed mineral resources, the right application of different machineries and aides, have to be used as peculiar to a resource. To ensure that the minerals are properly extracted and refined, the President said studies were carried out. This was said on Friday, when the President hosted Secretary-General of the International Seabed Authority, Mr. Michael Lodge, in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Mr. Michael Lodge praised Nigeria for providing leadership for Africa as a continent, and for hosting the International workshop. He pledged solidarity with Nigeria for the period he would serve as Secretary-General, and concluded by telling the country to support the blue economy by exploring its resources.
