Just a day after the country’s military leader announced the creation of a “government of national union” to chart the path to new elections, the Prime Minister of Chad and his government resigns.
Prime Minister Albert Pahimi Padacke handed over his resignation to an audience with Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, who was sworn in as “transitional president”.
Meanwhile, Former Chadian opposition figure Saleh Kebzabo said that the respect of “all freedoms” and “human rights in all their forms” will be part of the programme after his appointment as Prime Minister by Chadian ruler Mahamat Idriss Deby.
